Roussillon Beef

Continuing our trip in southern France..we move across to Roussillon....only to be disappointed after the Rhône and Languedoc.
Domaine Gardies Vieilles Vignes
Tautavel Rouge 2004

Cotes du Roussillon, France
Prunes(which I hated as a kid), tight earthy smell;.
jammy sweet fruit, chunky palate with lots of
dry, beefy tannins.

Really rather brutal and not much charm....
not a bad wine but considering it was in the
same price range as the 2 other wines from
Southern France..it lost out.

Get me outta here!
