K.F.C & G.V.

A good wine will deal with anything you throw at it. Not always the case of course. Tannin, acidity...sauces...but I wanted to test a Grüner Veltliner.
It is the most versatile of grapes.

Grüner Veltliner 2011

Kamptal, Austria

My wife wanted some Kentucky Fried Chicken...so the local eatery was visited. Into the oven to warm it up...then paper towels to take out the fat. Then a gentle chili sauce made by a friend...and you have a delicious 'fast food' to please anyone.

A mineral vein flows through the wine..and the hot wings and soft chili sauce was more than happy to swim in this G.V....it seemed to relish the challenge.
Day one
Points 17.25

A cold plate was on the menu next evening...
The wine had softened and showed some banana and tropical fruit...as if knowing what was on the plate...and like a chameleon...it changed it colours.
Day 2
Points 17
which goes to show...food can influence...
