Chocolate Pudding and Computer Elbow!

A long time reader of the blog sent me an email...as there had been some time since my last post....if all was well with me?
Not from lack of eating and drinking...the only excuse is...Windows 8. A long weekend getting my PC as I wanted it....meant what used to be called Tennis Arm...is now Computer Elbow. It has finally decided to leave me (2 Corteson jabs did the trick)...so with a bandage on my elbow and wrist...it is back to blogging.

A visit from my Godchild...she stayed overnight...and we met up with her parents next evening. She had never forgotten our last visit to La Fattoria...the reason being the Chocolate Pudding they serve. Any reason to go to our favourite restaurant...wiill be accepted...

The food was, as always...perfect.

The recommended white was not...showing oxidisation...
Masciarelli Marina Cvetic Chardonnay 2008
Abruzzi, Italy
and rather than risk a second bottle... it was back to an old reliable friend.
Alois Lageder Löwengang Chardonnay 2009
South Tirol, Italy
Gold-yellow...with a tinge of green...and the colour projects what is to follow. This is always a layed-back creamy Chardonnay...with vanilla and flowery notes...nice dose of acidity...still fresh...and perfect with the starters.
Points 16.5

The red...new to me...
Gaja Ca' Marcanda Magari 2007
Toscana, Italy

Opaque colour...nose of plums, chocolate...aired well...coffee...sweet oak. Soft and smooth with a lick on tannin needed to keep it above water with the food.. A modern-style wine...which pleased all.
Points 17

Oh yes...the food photos...almost forgot!

Sat outside with a good Havana...and forget to take a photo of the Chocolate Pudding!
