Flat Chickens & Wine

The local 'Turkish' butcher...hammer their chickens flat...so that they can be placed on the Barbecue...
My wife does them in the frying pan...adds potatoes and tomatoes...yummy. Did I mention that she makes enough for me to eat over three day.

Red...first day...
White..second day

Day 3...no wine left.

Mount Difficulty Pinot Noir 2008
Central Otago, New Zealand
Juicy style. Has softened over the last year...the tannins caressing the fruit instead of head butting it. The dark fruit dominates the palate...which then shows a velvety touch Some spiciness and still potential for a few years.
Points 16.75

Bründlmayer Grüner Veltliner
Erste Lage Käferberg 2011

Kamptal, Austria
First impression...young and lively...spring stream... unyielding. Overnight success...ripe yellow apples and some mango hit the nose. Juicy, opulent, exotic...really filled out...but with great minerality...power and harmony...very good
Points 17.5
