The sun is appearing more often...and we hope for a long summer. My elderly bones need sun...the winter was spent taking Vitamin D tablets to compensate...which seemed to get me through the long cold months. Checking the cellar it seems bare of whites for long summer evenings. An enjoyable afternoon was spent perusing a Wine-List from an Austrian Merchant...full of Grüner Veltliner and Sauvingon Blanc from the Steiermark (a tip...this area is making some wonderful versions of the grape). Choosing about 14 bottles...I told the Merchant to add 4 more of his choice...and a large case arrived. Eighteen wines to be enjoyed when the sun goes down of an evening....
