The 'partner' leaning against the bottle is called a Swiffer. It lies around our house...ready to dust away any dust. Searching for something different as a background for the photo of the wine...and dying to try it...I gave up and this was the result. Of course...I could say there was another 'deeper' motive. Back in the 80's ...anything Austrian and vinious could have started your car...as well as do you some damage. Those days have thankfully been 'swiffed' away. Nowadays...Austria is a country to watch. Regular readers will know my love für the Grüners....but Austria has some adventurous red wines. Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent and Pinot Noir are to be found....and they rarely disappoint.
Gernot Heinrich Pinot Noir 2006
Burgenland, Austria
Classy nose...very Burgundian...lingering creamy finesse....raspberry / strawberry and a touch of orange drift from the glass...crushed strawberry on the palate and a soft spiky feel...a trace of minerality. Rounded from start to finish...
Points 17.25
